Black powder shooting

I shot a black powder muzzleloader

As hunter and target shooter I gut accustomed to use different kinds of rifles. The rifles used thereby are mostly large caliber between 7.5x55, .300 Weatherby Magnum and the almost legendary 10.3x60R. The first time in my life I could shoot a muzzleloader rifle model Pedersoli Tryon target Percussion in caliber .45.

What a blast! I took the rifle in firing position and I have to say, the rifle fits very well. The front and back sights offered me good aiming point on the target. The target was 50 meters distance and the position was standing free. The rifle had polished match grooves. First class finished look and fine adjustable trigger. The stock consists of oiled walnut. The projectiles are the round balls in the caliber .445. The barrel length is approx. 87.5cm and the total length of the Tryon target rifle is 129cm.  This rifle has an approx. weight of 4.3kg and is very well balanced.

On a rainy day I had the possibility to fire this rifle. The preparations for loading the weapon were easy and fast. We put the target to 50m.

Eddie is a black powder shot crack! He told me everything about black powder shooting. After the instruction session he took the rifles in firing position and did some shots...

... the target was examined. What a nice grouping at 50m in standing position... Afterwards I shot my first group but I did not very well... The group was a little high and on the right. It seems that I have to practice more...
