Bullets for the

Vetterli cartridge 10.4x42R

The next steps would be to cast of some bullets. I could get a custom bullet mould from Lee which was produced after the specifications of the original Vetterli M1871 bullet design.

The bullet has a weight of approx. 323 grains. I calculated with Quick-Load the following load: OAL of the cartridge is 2.335 inches. This lenght does not allow to load the cartridge thru the tube magazin! Then 23.0 grains of the powder of Rottweil R910. The primer of RWS R5341 will ignite the cartridge.

 Acht Vetterli-Patronen...

In August 2004 the annual SwissRifle.com Postal Shooting has been taken in place. All the people form over the whole world are participating this kind of shooting. After receiving the targets the shooter has to compete the program which will contain 6 shots slowfire and 6 shots rapidfire within 60 secondes. Quite hard to finish in time...

Whit 72 of possible 120 points with open sights at 109 yards... There is a lot of room for improvement!!!
