First results at the shooting range
The
rifle was tested at the shooting
range. I took a lot of tools with me just
in case. With 50 rounds in the bag I was prepared for all eventualities.
Our 100-meter shooting range was ready for the great moment. I used a scope
“Admiral by GMC Made in Switzerland” with a magnification of 1.5-6x42.
This scope was a cheap one and it has a fine hair cross. I had loaded 6
rounds in the magazine. The bolt action worked very smoothly. Thus I had to
assume there was no tension in the system bedding. As I always do with the
first shots, I shot three rounds using a sandbag and my shooting jacket. I
paid absolute attention to eliminate trigger errors and such things like
that.
After the three shots I checked the seat of the screws. They were still firmly tightened. The shots were all high within 2cm together, all at the left site. After appropriate corrections to the scope I shot 5 shots within 5 minutes. Without changing anything at the scope all the shots were in a very good group size. What should I say – what a blast! Now this rifle definitely became my favorite rifle, although I built it for my wife. This Carbine-31 with the serial number 740### fits perfectly to me!
In August 2004 the annual SwissRifle.com Postal Shooting has been taken in place. All the people form over the whole world are participating this kind of shooting. After receiving the targets the shooter has to compete the program which will contain 6 shots slowfire and 6 shots rapidfire within 60 secondes. Quite hard to finish in time...
The target shows 12 hits with 117 of possible 120 score points at 109 yards!
