Carbine K-31 Hunt - the fast way

After finished two stocks build from a chunk of walnut I decided now to do the fast way. This stock had a lot of scratches at the bottom as you can see on this picture... The stock was in a very bad shape but the gun smith told me the barrel is in a very good shape. There was no tag under the butt plate. The first step was to remove all the dirt and the oil, afterwards I did the cut at the right place!

Afterwards I worked with the different types of sand paper. The recoil pad from Pachmayr works good on every of my hunting rifles.

 K-31, after sand paper work...

The sand paper work, from 60, 80, 120, 160, 200, 300, 400 and up to 600 did the above result. The effort was approximately four hours. The next step is the application of the gun stock oil. The result is shown below:

After additional applications of the gun stock oil I mounted the Pachmayr recoil pad - and here we go with the fast version of a Hunting stock...

Last but not least the scope mount from Brownells and the K-31 is ready for the shooting range. The final result looks promising. Although the work could be done within 15 hours...
