Carbine K-31 Hunt
Scope of the project
Exactly twelve years ago, when the large mania on the new miracle weapon Stgw90 (PE90) was broken out, I had purchased myself a Schmidt & Rubin carbine 31. This rifle costs me about 60 bucks. The gun dealer told me that nobody would buy a Schmidt & Rubin K-31 anymore. He had one, which was stored at the “Eidgenössisches Zeughaus in Zurich", department sniper.
Together
with the rifle I received a very promising target with 10 shots at 300m
with a group size of 10cm (approx 4 inches). The rifle shot very precisely
but with the original stock I simply had troubles. And in the year 2000 I
purchased a second S&R K-31. This was intended for my wife. And this
rifle was selected for the project sporterizing K31. Since I’m also a hunter, it was totally natural that the thoughts of a sporterizing K-31 arose because the Swiss ammunition GP11 is much cheaper than the other available ammunition. And from the economic point of view it was also the idea that the project sporterizing was started.
